Q. When I order on-line do Electro Bikes use a secure server?
A.Yes. Absolutely. The Electro Bikes site uses a128-bit SSL certificate offering the highest level of encryption and security possible via eWay This means you can rest assured that communications between your browser and this site's web servers are private safe and secure.

Q. Do you charge a delivery fee?
A. Yes. Unfortunately we do, due to our lower than Retail sell prices we are no longer able to incorporate $0 delivery fees. We do however keep the delivery fee at a minimum, our cost is your cost.

Q. Do I need a license to ride an electric bike?
A. No. As long as the power output of the motor is under 200w, as all of our electric bicycles are.

Q. Do I need to register an electric bicycle?
A. No. Under Australian law our electric bicycles are classed as ordinary bicycles, as they have a power output of less than 200w.

Q. How far can I travel on one charge?
A. The distance travelled would vary depending on several factors, for example the number of hills climbed, tyre pressures, weight of rider, wind resistance, speed, and amount of pedal assistance given. A rough guide though is anywhere between 30 and 45kms, this depends on whether you are using hand throttle only or pedal assist which has Low, Medium and High modes and the modes are easily changed while riding.

Q. Do your electric bicycles come complete with a battery charger - and if so do they carry the C-tick mark and the required electrical approvals?
A. All of our bicycles are supplied with an approved battery charger. Our C-tick approval number is N17605 and our electrical approval number is N19814.

Q. What happens if the battery goes flat while I'm riding?
A. Simply ride the electric bicycle as a normal bicycle.

Q. How often will my electro bike need servicing?
A. We recommend a full service every 12 months under normal use.

Q. What is the warranty?
A. We offer a comprehensive manufacturers warranty on all our electric bicycles:

Your Lancaster Electric bicycle purchased from Electro Bikes in Australia is fully guaranteed for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase against faults arising due to defects in manufacture or materials. We will repair or replace, at our option, any part found on examination by us and /or the manufacturer to be defective in material and/or workmanship.

In addition we offer a two (2) year limited warranty from the date of purchase against faults arising due to defects in manufacture or materials on the bicycle frame, including seat post and frame welds.
This warranty does not extend to items which may need replacement due to normal wear and tear (tyres, bulbs, seats, handgrips, brake pads, fuses, brushes brake cables etc.) it also does not extend to items damaged due to inappropriate use of the vehicle. Batteries are covered by a six (6) months warranty from the original manufacturer - please note that gradual deterioration due to being left in a discharged state, misuse, or worn out through very heavy use is not covered.

Q. How fast will my bike go?
A. The speed would vary depending on several factors, for example, tyre pressures, weight of rider, wind resistance battery condition, amount of pedal assistance given, riders fitness. A rough guide though is around 30 klm/h Max via the hand throttle and approx 40 klm/h via pedal assist can be maintained (Depends on riders fitness level, terrain etc) quite easily.

Q. Do I need to pedal?
A. Only if you want to - the choice is yours. However, battery power together with pedal power is the most recommended combination for the best effective operation, especially on hills. In any case pedal assistance will be required to maintain your speed on hills.

Q. What are the running costs?
A. Running costs will vary depending on the speed, terrain, tyre pressures, hills, battery size and type, riders weight, weight of luggage carried etc., but as a general indication around 5 to10cents a day!

Q. Does the battery recharge when I pedal?
A. No - it must be re-charged with the approved charger supplied with your electric bicycle.
